Kelly Palmer†

Kelly Palmer was born in Alberta and raised in Calgary. He attended the University of Alberta, and received a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction in 1981, a Master of Business Administrationin 1984, and a Bachelor of Laws with Distinction in 1985. In addition, he received a Diploma in International and Comparative Law from King's College, London England in 1984.
In recognition of scholastic achievement in university, Mr. Palmer was awarded numerous scholarships and awards, including the Faculty of Law Dean's Honour List, the Louise McKinney Alberta Heritage Trust Fund Award, and the Judges Bronze Medal in Law. He is the author of a leading Canadian commercial law text that has been quoted with approval by the Supreme Court of Canada, and is a Third Degree Black Belt in Judo.
After admission to the Law Society of Alberta in 1986, Mr. Palmer practiced in London and Paris for several years with a major international solicitors firm, where he specialized in international banking and finance. During this time, Mr. Palmer structured, negotiated, documented and closed commercial transactions in 35 countries. He was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 1991, and now maintains offices in Edmonton and Calgary practicing business law in local and international settings.
